CHZ street lights illuminate the land of West Africa
Burkina Faso is a landlocked country located in the upper reaches of the Volta River in West Africa. The area is about 274,200 square kilometers. It is located in the interior of West Africa, bordering Benin and Niger to the east, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Togo to the south, and Mali to the west and north. Burkina Faso is dominated by a savanna climate, lacks resources, is located on the edge of the desert, and has little arable land. Burkina Faso has always been a very poor country, one of the least developed countries, and a major exporter of immigrant labor from neighboring countries in Africa. Ouagadougou is the capital and largest city of Burkina Faso. The country’s only railway runs from the capital Ouagadougou to Côte d’Ivoire.
Burkina Faso has a severe power shortage, and most of its power is imported from Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire. Since the new national government came to power in 2015, it has attached great importance to energy-saving transformation. Since our company's LED tube and street lamp products entered the domestic market in 2018, they have been widely praised by market customers through their application in some engineering projects. This time, we won the bid for the entire urban street lamp renovation project of Bobo Dioulasso, the second-largest city in the country, and replaced the previous 250W high-pressure sodium lamp. The total number of units in this project is 5,000, and the first order is 2,000.
Our local agent has cooperated with the road lighting unit SONABEL. After nearly 50 days of installation, the installation of these street lights has been completed. In order to learn more about the implementation of the project, our sales staff, accompanied by local agents, drove to our city for on-site inspections.
Starting from the capital Ouagadougou, after nearly 6 hours by car, finally arrived in Bobo-Dioulasso city. Entering the outskirts of Bobo City, the rows of bright street lights left a deep impression on me. This batch of street lights adopts our company's ST13-120W three-module street light, using PHILIPS3030 light source and MW driver, and the light efficiency is as high as 140LX/W.
The pole is 9 meters high and the distance between poles is 35 meters. According to the field test of the illuminance meter, the maximum illuminance is 38.9LX, the minimum is 18.7LX, and the average illuminance reaches 26.8LX, which completely exceeds the local road lighting requirements and international road lighting standards.
Then, the staff of the SONABEL Engineering Department took us to visit the entire Bobo City. We are proud to tell us that this is the most successful street light renovation in their city in recent years. Since this renovation, the city has become very bright, and it has brought three obvious effects:
First, the city's energy-saving and consumption-reducing targets are fully realized. According to the monitoring data, the power consumption of urban lighting has been reduced by more than 50%, because 250W high-pressure sodium lamps were used before, but 120W LED street lamps are now used; at the same time, the brightness of the road has also increased by more than 40%. , The whole city became dazzling and vibrant.
Second, the public security situation in the city has improved significantly. Burkina Faso is a backward country with poor public security. Criminal activities such as theft and robbery mostly occur at night. However, after this change, crime incidents have been significantly reduced, and citizens' sense of security has been significantly improved. It was already past 10 o'clock in the evening, but there were still many people on the street.
The third is to effectively promote local economic development. Due to geographical reasons, the temperature in the entire city during the day is very high, and there are not many vendors and customers on both sides of the road during the day. However, at night, the streets are very bright and there are businesses everywhere on the road. There are small shops everywhere here. Jointly promoted the development of the local economy.
After visiting the entire city, we interviewed Mr. Audman, the leader of SONABEL. After meeting us and knowing that we are the manufacturer of CHZ LIGHTING, he was very happy to shake hands with us and highly appreciated the quality of our products. Thank them for bringing light to their cities and saving a lot of electricity. He is proud of the successful implementation of this project and hopes to have more cooperation with us in the future.
When we returned to Ouagadougou the next day, we were cordially received by the Minister of Energy of the country, Mr. Beshir. We expressed our sincere gratitude for our high-quality products and services and looked forward to strengthening the cooperation between the two sides. We are committed to continuing to work harder
